Aug 25, 2023Woman held in attempted theft of truck and food trailer
Waco, Tx (FOX 44) – A woman has been arrested after a man told police there was an attempt to take his truck and attached food trailer even as he was attempting to disconnect the trailer.
Police found him holding a suspect on the ground when they responded to the call.
An arrest affidavit stated officers were called to the 900 block of North Valley Mills Drive in reference to a possible robbery in progress. When they got there they found a man holding a woman later identified as 39-year-old Ashlee Michelle Rose on the ground next to a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup with a food trailer attached.
The affidavit stated the victim told officers he was attempting to lower his trailer jack to unhook his food trailer when the truck and trailer began moving forward. Thinking he had perhaps forgotten to put the vehicle in “park” he went to the cab and found a woman in the front seat with the vehicle in “drive.” He told officers he told the woman to get out of the truck and she told him ” she needed to go.” The victim told her to get out of the vehicle again and she put it in “park” and got out like she was going to run. He then put the woman on the ground and held her there until officers arrived.
